The problem

Scottsdale Smiles had been operating for 11 years with a website built in 2016 on a basic WordPress template. The site loaded in 8.3 seconds on mobile. There was no online booking option. The homepage hadn't been updated since 2019 and still showed a phone number for a staff member who had left the practice.

Dr. Chen had tried to get quotes from local agencies and been told it would cost $8,000–15,000 and take 3 months. In the meantime, two competing dental practices within a mile had launched modern, fast websites. Her Google rankings had slipped from page one to page two for "dentist Scottsdale" — a drop that was costing her an estimated 3–5 new patient enquiries per month.

The existing site had no clear call to action above the fold, no mobile optimisation, and a PageSpeed score of 22 on mobile. It was doing real, measurable damage.

The goal

A complete website rebuild that loads fast on mobile, ranks for local search terms, makes it easy for new patients to book online, and looks as professional as the practice actually is.

What we built

We started by auditing every page of the existing site — cataloguing what content was worth keeping, what needed rewriting, and what was simply wrong (including that outdated phone number). We then designed a new homepage, services page, about page, and patient information page in Figma before writing a single line of code.

The new site leads with a single clear CTA: 'Book a new patient appointment.' The homepage hero answers the three questions every potential patient has: what the practice does, where it is, and how to book. Every service page is structured to rank for a specific search term — 'teeth whitening Scottsdale', 'dental implants Scottsdale', and so on.

We set up Google Search Console, submitted the sitemap, added LocalBusiness schema markup with the correct address, phone number, and opening hours, and configured canonical URLs on every page. The practice's Google Business Profile was also audited and updated to match the new site.
